Couple impressed by Energy Star

Mitch and Mary Marcos look forward to the completion of construction on their first home.

The newlyweds purchased a residence that meets the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star requirements to ensure it would be economically and environmentally friendly.

"Being in the real estate business, I am very familiar with the many benefits of Energy Star and the great quality of KB's homes," Mitch Marcos said.

Mary Marcos visited the builder's design studio to select their home's Energy Star upgrades.

"We wanted to be certain our new home would be as energy efficient as possible and would be appropriately outfitted for our desert climate," she said. "That's why we chose to upgrade everything from garage insulation to window frames."

Mitch Marcos agreed.

"I am confident KB's high-quality building material and the Energy Star upgrades will withstand the test of time and ultimately increase the value of our home," he said.

"Not only is our new home energy conscious, we are saving money on our utility bills. It's a smart way to go."

The couple also pointed out that they chose to incorporate desert landscaping into their new-home design.

KB Home is a member of Nevada Energy Star Partners, a voluntary coalition of Southern Nevada home builders, developers, retailers, finance companies, energy consultants and utility companies promoting energy conservation.
