Pulte, Del Webb workers send employer accolades

Pulte Homes and Del Webb employees believe they have one of the best workplaces in town and have nominated their combined companies for an awards program that recognizes employers, according to a survey sponsored by the Southern Nevada Human Resources Association and a local business publication.

Pulte Homes/Del Webb was named among the winners as the 2004 "Best Places to Work" in Southern Nevada.

"I'm proud to be part of a team that I believe has found the key to sustained success. It's never too early or too late to take on the challenge of improving our abilities and helping develop them in others. This is a natural art form for the Nevada team and the core of the people, culture and success of the company," Nevada area President Sheryl Palmer said.

The companies practice employee development through their 90-day training program, mentoring program, college recruiting program, individual development plans, individual performance appraisals and diversity of staff.

In addition, the companies sponsor themed quarterly meetings and incentive trips to motivate their employees to achieve both company and individual goals.
