MacDonald Highlands heads up hills, down into canyons

Glenbrook Canyon home sites provide setting of unusual topography

Work is under way on 2.5 acres of landscaping within Glenbrook Canyon, a gated, custom neighborhood within the MacDonald Highlands community in Henderson.

"Glenbrook Canyon offers tremendous elevation changes for prospective buyers looking for that rare and unusual setting," said Rich MacDonald, owner and developer of the community.

"The topography of this canyon will enable architects to incorporate stunning views into the design of each custom home. We encourage prospective buyers to visit our information center to view photography, artist renderings and scaled models of custom homes designed for hillside acreage such as Glenbrook."

The neighborhood is surrounded by rock formations and offers 14 custom lots on mountaintop or hillside acreage. The sites are intended for multilevel estates, with parcels ranging from 1 acre to 2 acres. Prices start from $1.1 to $1.65 million.

MacDonald Highlands is anchored by DragonRidge Country Club, an 18-hole private golf course set against the backdrop of the canyons and elevation changes. Built of stone and glass, the clubhouse features a gourmet dining room with views of the Strip, two mixed grills and lounges, a ballroom, fitness center, swimming pool, children's pool and a pro shop. Private golf membership is limited. A complimentary social membership to the country club is provided to lot owners upon application approval.

Four custom-home neighborhoods are under development in MacDonald Highlands, each with its own distinct topography and views. Terrains include flat golf frontage, multilevel pads or hillside elevations with views of the golf course, mountains or city. Home sites measure from a half-acre to more than 2 1/2 acres. Prices start from $950,000 to $6 million.

The information center is located at 1730 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suite 100.

To visit, take the Las Vegas Beltway to Valle Verde Drive and go south to Horizon Ridge Parkway. The office is open daily.
