Christopher Collection presales take off at Southern Highlands

     Presales got off to a grand start last weekend at The Christopher Collection, Christopher Homes' neighborhood in the Southern Highlands Golf Club community in the southwestern valley. Sales agent Teresa Tebbs said numerous sales were made during the opening.
      "This is an exciting day for Christopher Homes and for luxury-home buyers in the Las Vegas market," Tebbs said last weekend. "Best of all, many of the residential designs we are offering are currently modeled at other exclusive neighborhoods Christopher Homes is building in Las Vegas. That means early-phase buyers can take advantage of lower introductory pricing, while still being able to physically walk through their selected plan."
      Floor plans range from 3,000 to 6,200 square feet. The collection features five single-story plans; three two-story designs with main-level owner suites; and eight two-story plans with upstairs owner suites. Two of the plans are new, and offer such features as a subterranean wine room and a balcony with a fireplace.
      Options include elevators, motor courts, courtyard fireplaces, detached guest quarters, room additions, four-car garages, secondary owner suites, extra baths, bonus rooms, libraries, wine cellars and wet bars.
      Prices start from $433,900 to $669,900.
      Home buyers receive free consultation with the builder's staff of architectural and interior designers.
      Home sites measure one-quarter acre to one-half acre; most lots align the golf course.
      Ninety-eight homes will be built in the neighborhood, where model homes are scheduled to open in October.
      Community amenities include a 24-hour guard-gated entrance, a security patrol, concierge services, parks and recreational facilities.
      Southern Highlands, a 2,300-acre community, will include medical and day-care facilities, public and private schools, restaurants, and commercial development including a business center.
      The championship golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr. Membership is by invitation only and limited to 360 members. Each buyer of a home in The Christopher Collection will receive a social membership.
      To visit, take Interstate 15 to Lake Mead Drive and go west. Office hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
