Del Webb Corp.'s Desert Willow course extends summer hours

     Del Webb Corp.'s Desert Willow Golf Club is gearing up for the longer hours of summer play, according to Shane Sanchez, director of golf.
      "Beginning June 1, we will have 5:30 a.m. tee times available," Sanchez said. "And, special summer rates go into effect June 5, making Desert Willow Golf Club very affordable."
      Summer rates will remain through Sept. 15.
      The golf course is located within Sun City MacDonald Ranch, an age-qualified community in Henderson.
      "This is Southern Nevada's most challenging executive golf course," Sanchez said. "We are fortunate to have one of the best superintendents in the Las Vegas Valley, Jared Bumpus, which means our course is in immaculate shape year round. The greens are well-manicured and groomed and are generally in great shape," Sanchez said.
      The par-60, 3,845-yard course has all par-3 and par-4 holes, which allows players to enjoy a full round of golf in only three to 3 1/2 hours.
      Nine floor plans are available, ranging from 1,020 to 2,014 square feet. Homes are priced from $121,100 to $197,800.
      To visit, take Lake Mead Drive to Green Valley Parkway and go south.
      The sales office and model homes are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
