Summerlin announces alliance
Summerlin has announced its alliance with Home Director Inc., a spin-off of IBM and developer of home networking products.
Through its Network Connection Center, homeowners can network the voice, video and data technology systems in their homes. The system is able to support advanced telephone and video systems, Ethernet networking, security monitoring cameras and home management systems.
"Summerlin has long been regarded as a community where quality of life is unparalleled," Stew Gibbons, executive vice president of The Howard Hughes Corp., the community's developer, said. "Because of technology's ability to shape the way we live today, the need to establish relationships with leading technological partners like Home Director is obvious. Our goal is to provide residents with the opportunity to decide where, how and when to manage their home automation, entertainment and communication needs."
As a result of the alliance, the community's home builders will be able to offer the installation of the necessary wiring to support the system during the construction process. The system is priced from $600 to $3,500, depending on the level of networking capabilities and other factors.
Sunrise Colony Co., developer of Red Rock Country Club and Siena, is the first Summerlin builder to offer the product.
Summerlin offers homes priced from $90,000 to $700,000. Custom-home sites ranging from one-quarter acre to one-third acre are priced from $90,000 to $300,000. Predesigned custom homes are priced from $500,000 to more than $1 million.
To visit, take Summerlin Parkway to Town Center Drive and turn north, then turn east on Hillwood Drive. Or, take Sahara Avenue to Blue Willow Lane, west of Hualapai Way, and turn south. Both information centers are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.Jack Dennehey of Home Director Inc., right, explains the Home Director system to Stew Gibbons, executive vice president of The Howard Hughes Corp.
