Condo buyers find serenity at Vistana

Ellen and Erik Johnston visited Rhodes Homes' Vistana development in the southwestern valley, and found the serene environment suitable for buying a condominium.

"I couldn't believe how quiet it was in Vistana," Ellen Johnston, a supervisor at a recycling plant, said. "It was far enough from Las Vegas that you could actually enjoy coming home and relaxing."

Erik Johnston liked the development's "tropical feel," saying he could detect the scent of flowers in the air.

The couple chose the 847-square-foot Madrid plan, a two-bedroom, two-bath design, for its windows.

"I love the sunshine brightening up my new home," Ellen Johnston said. "Also, it will be very exciting when the (Las Vegas) Beltway finally gets finished. It will dramatically cut my commute time to work."

Nine condominium models are available, three of which feature one bedroom and one bath and measure 670 to 796 square feet. Five designs contain two bedrooms and two baths and range from 847 to more than 1,200 square feet. The Venice is a three-bedroom, two-bath plan with 1,413 square feet.

Prices range from the low $70,000s to more than $100,000. Each residence includes an appliance package and window coverings.

The development is planned to include three pools, a two-story fitness center and a spa.

To visit, take Tropicana Avenue to Durango Drive, then go south to Warm Springs Road.

The sales office and models are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
