Southern Highlands: Christopher opens The Villas for presales

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Christopher Homes starts presales today at The Villas, a neighborhood of 143 homes located within the Southern Highlands Golf Club community in the southwestern valley. Models are expected to open this summer.

The single-family homes are priced from the mid-$300,000s to the mid-$800,000s, and range from 2,100 to 3,300 square feet.

J. Christopher Stuhmer, chairman of Christopher Homes, said the enclave is designed to provide luxury and convenience for its residents.

"The emphasis is on lifestyle, where a person can come home, have dinner delivered from the clubhouse, enjoy a swim or a tennis match, arrange for a massage, or simply relax and enjoy the golf course views from their own private villa," Stuhmer said.

"We identified a need in the marketplace for a home that was conducive to the lifestyle of active singles and couples, as well as second-home buyers who would prefer to own a luxury villa rather than a condominium. The Villas presents a refreshing alternative for these buyers, who might otherwise consider purchasing an upscale condo in a higher density, urban environment. Here, they have the luxury of a detached home along with a lush and magnificent country club setting."

The Villas will be surrounded by the community's golf course, a 220-acre, 18-hole championship facility designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr. The course is highlighted by 18 acres of streams, lakes and waterfalls as well as views of the Las Vegas Valley. A 42,000-square-foot clubhouse is open, and a 6,000-square-foot sports and fitness center is planned.

Most homes in The Villas will be built on cul-de-sacs with paver-stone streets, according to Stuhmer.

"To accommodate a wider range of buyers, we are offering lots of variety in the residential designs, such as the added second and third floor options," he said.

"Many of our buyers will want the convenience of a single-story home, while others may want the second level to take maximum advantage of the golf course and city views. The plans with added second and third stories can incorporate such features as second floor casitas, covered rear terraces, game or entertaining rooms, secondary master suites, and a number of other possibilities."

All homes come with a covered patio, granite counter tops in the kitchen, and an advanced wiring system. Also included is a courtyard with an optional fireplace.

Each buyer can consult with the builder's in-house staff of interior designers.

Residents of The Villas will live within the private Southern Highlands Golf Club, which features a 24-hour, guard-gated entrance; roving security; concierge services; and recreational facilities that include a swimming pool and tennis courts. Christopher Homes provides each buyer at The Villas with a social membership to Southern Highlands Golf Club, upon application approval.

Sales information for The Villas is available in the sales office for The Christopher Collection, also located within Southern Highlands. To visit, take Interstate 15 to Lake Mead Drive and exit west, following the signs. Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Southern Highlands, a 2,300-acre master-planned community, is planned to include a village center offering medical and day-care facilities, public and private schools, a business center, and a variety of dining and retail establishments.
