Mt. Charleston Realty specializes in mountain properties
Mount Charleston offers a refreshing alternative to city life, according to Garry and Angie Tomashowski, owners of Mt. Charleston Realty. The couple has lived in the mountain community for 14 years. "With its cooler summer temperatures and actual snow accumulation of mild winters, combined with a magnificent natural environment, this area is an amazing and realistic lifestyle option," Garry Tomashowski said. "Buyers realize they don't have to necessarily wait for retirement to treat themselves to such a lifestyle, either full time or as a convenient part-time getaway. This recreational paradise is a natural for hiking, biking, skiing, nature walks, and just plain peaceful, cool relaxation." The community is within the Toiyabe National Forest, about a 45 minute drive from downtown Las Vegas. "With Las Vegas growing towards Mount Charleston, this area is pretty much set to remain the pristine natural hamlet it has been, as the deeded land parameters were long ago set," Angie Tomashowski said. Community amenities include fire and police protection, two restaurants, a hotel, lodge, library, and an elementary school. Homes are priced from about $200,000 to $1.5 million and lots are priced from the mid-$100,000s to $400,000. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 north, past the Santa Fe Station Hotel, to Kyle Canyon Road and go west.
