Renaissance expands selection of pools, spas

Jim Alexander, president of Renaissance Pools & Spas, says business has never been better as his product line continues to expand. A "water gym" is among the designs being introduced by the company, Southern Nevada's exclusive dealer of in-ground, ceramic-epoxy pools manufactured by Viking Pools.

"We're proud of the reputation we have built in Southern Nevada and very excited by the new products we now have coming online. Right now, we're showcasing our new 2002 models, which were released earlier than we expected," Alexander said.

"Among our new models is a `water gym,' which is a completely different pool than anything else in the industry. It comes in a variety of sizes, works well with smallest of yards, and offers the ultimate in aquatic exercise. Its depth and versatility make it perfect for aquatic cross training and physical therapy."

Alexander said the water gym offers several options, including swim gym packages, swim jet packages, grab bars, pull-up bars, leg lift bars, dip bars and handicap lifts.

"The available options allow the owner to customize their pool, as well as their exercise program. They can tailor their workout to virtually any option whether it be stationary swimming, water walking, water aerobics or strength training," he said.

Alexander said an operational water gym pool is installed at the company's new North Las Vegas showroom at 2180 W. Craig Road, just west of Interstate 15. The company's original showroom is located at 1245 N. Boulder Highway in Henderson.

"We are expanding our operation in order to better serve the needs of our growing list of customers who are coming from all areas of the Las Vegas Valley ... We are happy to build gunite pools, but we highly recommend the ceramic-epoxy pools for a number of important reasons," Alexander said.

According to Alexander, ceramic-epoxy pools and spas are constructed with advanced composite materials that are stronger than fiberglass or concrete.

He said they require fewer chemicals, offer resistant surface finishes, and are installed, on average, in about three weeks.

Several pool shapes, sizes, colors and finishes are available, ranging from "mini pools" measuring about 10X16 feet to 45-foot diving models. In-floor cleaning systems are available.

Prices for fully installed, ceramic-epoxy pools range from about $16,000 to $32,000, and financing is available.

"We also offer special consultation for buyers who wish to handle their own installation, which results in a 40-percent discount off the price of a fully-installed pool ... Approximately 30 percent of our pool sales are to customers who choose to handle the installation themselves," Alexander said.

The pools come with a lifetime manufacturer's war- ranty.
