The Boulder City High School Eagles, led by first-place individual finisher Dusty Craddock, won the 2006 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Class 3A Boys Golf championship, played recently at Mountain Falls Golf Club.

The Eagles beat out second-place team Virgin Valley High of Mesquite and Winnemucca's Lowry High, which finished third.

The 18-hole parkland course anchors Mountain Falls, a master-planned golf course community by William Lyon Homes in the Pahrump Valley.

"Mountain Falls tops the list of Nevada's best courses. It provided an excellent challenge for the state's most accomplished high school golfers," said Donnie Nelson, assistant director for the NIAA, which governs the state's high school athletics. "We applaud every player who earned a spot in the tournament."

Neil Pierce, general manager and head golf professional of the course, said he was impressed with the caliber of play.

"It was exciting to see the determination of these young athletes as they worked to finesse our trickiest holes," Pierce said. "Everyone at Mountain Falls was thrilled to host the tournament. It was our chance to give back to the community. We enjoy our relationships with area high schools and youth golf clubs and look forward to future hosting opportunities."

In addition to the course, the club features two putting greens, three chipping greens, a practice bunker, a driving range with mountain views, and a golf shop.

The clubhouse includes a restaurant and lounge open to the public.

William Lyon offers single-story homes for sale at its Cascata, Tramonto and Bella Sera neighborhoods. Homes are priced from the low $200,000s.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to Blue Diamond Road and go west about 45 miles. Before reaching Pahrump, turn left on Manse Road, then proceed to Hafen Ranch Road and turn right, then left on Lakeview Drive and follow the signs to the sales office.

The information center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
