Custom homes, lots featured at MacDonald Highlands

The MacDonald Highlands community in Henderson features a new release of custom-home sites as well as a few custom homes available for purchase.

The released custom sites measure one-half acre and are in the Bent Green enclave, which is situated along the DragonRidge Golf Course.

In addition, six custom lots remain in the community's Kings Links area, which features sites ranging from about one-third acre to one-half acre. The lots are adjacent to the golf course and to one of the community's parks.

Three custom residences aligning the golf course are available. They have been built by DragonRidge Custom Homes, a partnership between Rich MacDonald, president of MacDonald Cos., and Steve and Bart Jones of Merlin Construction along with Joel Laub.

The three homes -- called L'ambiance, Grandézza and Bella Vista -- range from about 5,100 to 5,500 square feet and are priced from $1.999 million to $2.195 million. The three- and four-bedroom homes feature stone exteriors, home theaters, swimming pools, spas and landscaping.

L'ambiance is a 5,174-square-foot home featuring stone flooring with inlaid designs and a gated front courtyard with fireplace. Its downstairs owner suite features butted glass and views of the course's sixth hole and water feature.

The 5,514-square-foot Grandézza features a porte cochere entry, a staircase leading to two wings, and views of the golf course and its water feature.

Bella Vista, which measures 5,639 square feet, features a theatre room, room for an office or gym, and views of the back yard and golf course from its living and dining rooms and bar area.

Upon completion, the guard-gated community will feature 17 neighborhoods spread over 1,200 acres. Eight custom-home neighborhoods are under development, with lots priced from the $150,000s to more than $2 million.

The Highlands neighborhood offers lots with partial city and mountain views; Lochmere features golf frontage, lake and mountain views; Palisades and Lairmont have golf frontage, city and mountain views; Montrose offers golf frontage and mountain views; and Lochinver Ridge and Glenbrook Canyon feature hillside lots with city and mountain views. Stonehaven at MacDonald Highlands contains semicustom homes by Toll Bros.

In addition to the Jay Morrish and David Druzisky golf course, members have access to a temporary clubhouse, which will be replaced by a permanent clubhouse next year. The facility will feature a golf shop, exercise facility, swimming pool, upscale dining room, and mixed grill and lounge.

To visit the community's information office at 1700 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway., Suite 100, take Interstate 215 to Valle Verde Drive and go south to Horizon Ridge. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

The community is hosting the 2002 Street of Dreams luxury housing tour, which runs through June 16. Four showcase homes valued from about $1.995 million to $3.45 million are on display.
