LandWell Cure Asthma Golf Classic set for June

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

The 10th annual LandWell Cure Asthma Golf Classic is scheduled for Monday, June 9 at Rio Secco Golf Club in Henderson.

Proceeds from the tournament, and an accompanying silent auction, will benefit Denver-based National Jewish Medical and Research Center, the only facility in the United States devoted to research, patient care, and education for chronic lung, allergic, and immune system diseases affecting children and adults.

The LandWell Co., a Henderson-based development company, is the tournament's title sponsor. Dan H. Stewart, company president, said the tournament has been well supported by Las Vegas Valley residents and, in particular, the real estate community.

"Since its inception, the annual golf tournament has raised more than $500,000 locally for the research center," Stewart said.

Also sponsoring the event are: Rio Secco Golf Club, Harrah's, CB Richard Ellis, Cox Communications, The Howard Hughes Corp., Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth F. Sokol, American Nevada Co. and Shack Findlay Honda.

Founded in 1899, National Jewish is a nonprofit and nonsectarian institution dedicated to enhancing prevention, treatment and cures through research, and to developing and providing innovative clinical programs for treating patients regardless of age, religion, race or ability to pay.

The center is considered the most influential private immunology research institution, and ranks among the top 10 independent biomedical research centers in the world.
