Pardee design director buys home in Nevada Trails

Diane Salas, design center manager for Pardee Homes, and her husband Dave recently purchased their second Pardee home in Southern Nevada. Their first was located in the builder's Eldorado community, and their new home is located within Nevada Trails, a southwestern valley community.

"We have been very happy in Eldorado, but we began looking for a bigger home two years ago," Diane Salas said. "We both fell in love with Nevada Trails after just one visit to the models. We particularly loved the community's backdrop of the Spring Mountains to the west, its elegant palm-lined private entry road, and its easy access to the newly constructed section of the Las Vegas Beltway."

The couple chose a two-story home in Silver Tree, one of three neighborhoods within Nevada Trails. Their 3,370-square-foot home features a turret entry, and an upstairs home office and bonus room.

All homes in Nevada Trails feature the Energy Star label.

"The Energy Star package doesn't just make homes more energy efficient, it helps make them more comfortable and cleaner. For instance, superior sealing helps keep out dust and noise," Salas said. "The ... spectrally selective windows ... block ultraviolet light, which fades furniture and carpeting, and solar heat, which drives up the power bill. People love to leave their curtains open to maximize natural light and give them rooms with a view."

Floor plans in Silver Tree range from 2,000 to 3,844 square feet with as many as seven bedrooms, four baths and a two- or three-car garage. Prices start from $206,450 to $262,450.

The Manzanita neighborhood offers four floor plans, ranging from 1,429 to 2,566 square feet with as many as five bedrooms, two or three baths, and a two- or three-car garage. Prices start from $168,450 to $210,450.

In the gated Saddle Peak neighborhood, homes measure from 2,565 to 3,025 square feet with as many as five bedrooms, three baths and a three-car garage. Prices range from $252,450 to $271,950.

Nevada Trails is planned to include 13 acres of parks.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Rainbow Boulevard, go south about a mile to Robindale Road and turn right. The sales office and models are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m.
