Toddlers compete in Summerlin trike race
Summerlin Sam, mascot of the Summerlin master-planned community, congratulated 5-year-old Andrew Alter after a race around the Arbors Tennis & Play Park. Andrew was one of dozens of Summerlin tykes who recently participated in the fifth annual Summerlin 5 Tricycle and Big Wheel Race. The event is held at Arborville, a half-acre playground and tricycle track within the park. Arborville was built just for toddlers and their vehicles. It features a variety of terrain, including loops, hills, bridges and banked turns. It is designed as a mini version of Summerlin with "city" and "countryside" components. The Summerlin 5 event was organized by The Summerlin Council, a nonprofit arm of the Summerlin Community Association. It is one of nearly two dozen annual special events planned exclusively for community residents.
