Frequent mover anticipates active life at Sun City
Cedra Reskovac has lived in Las Vegas on and off since 1961. Having seen the growth of the city, she's also seen the number of Sun City communities throughout the valley increase. "I've ... always loved it here," Reskovac said. "In fact, I wanted to buy a home in Del Webb's Sun City Summerlin in 1991 but wasn't old enough. I knew I'd buy a Del Webb home eventually though, because they build great communities." Reskovac decided to make Las Vegas her permanent home when she realized all she missed about the city. "I like that Las Vegas is a 24-hour town," she said. "I missed the entertainment, the gaming and the excitement. This time I'm here to stay. "I didn't want to rent anymore; it was a waste of money. I wanted to buy a home that was in a quiet neighborhood away from the center of town." Reskovac saw construction for Sun City Aliante one day as she drove along Interstate 215. The age-qualified community in North Las Vegas features an 18-hole municipal golf course, a recreation center with bocce and tennis courts, a swimming pool, fitness center, and club and hobby rooms. "They were just starting to move dirt out there when I called for information. I waited for them to open their sales office in order to see the maps and floor plans," she said. "Aliante is a marvelous place. It has a great dinosaur park that my granddaughter will love ... and I'm looking forward to swimming at the pool." While she plans to travel, Reskovac said she also looks forward to relaxing at home with new friends. "One thing I really like about Sun City Aliante is that the people moving there are within 10 years of my age range, which means we're all active and will age together," she said. Reskovac purchased a Sage floor plan, a 1,239-square-foot home with three bedrooms, two baths and a covered patio. Prices start from the high $150,000s to mid-$240,000s. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go north. The sales office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
