Molasky presides over sculpture dedication
An outdoor sculpture commissioned by Nathan Adelson Hospice was unveiled Tuesday at an intimate gathering of hospice representatives and invited guests. Internationally acclaimed artist Nicholas Price created "The Silver Sail" and longtime Las Vegas real estate developer and hospice co-founder Irwin Molasky unveiled it at the ceremony. Molasky said the contemporary artwork symbolizes a "new era" for the nonprofit facility, which recently marked its 25th year of providing compassionate care for the terminally ill. Inspired by the poem "What is Dying?" by Victor Hugo, Price said he designed the one-of-a-kind piece to promote healing, health, happiness and communication. The artist installed the sculpture in the garden courtyard of the main hospice facility on Swenson Street near Flamingo Road in Las Vegas. Valued at $80,000, the 12-foot-6-inch high and 4-foot-wide piece was funded by the Nicholas A. Price Family Art Trust.
