Multiple break-ins at office leads to purchase of Rolladen shutters
Tom Jones purchased Rolladen rolling shutters for his family's Las Vegas business after two break-ins occurred on the property within six days. "You feel so violated when someone breaks into your business," Jones said. "This is like our second home. It's our life; where we generate our income. We feel very secure with the shutters. We can shut them down and nobody can get in anymore. "We could have put iron bars on the building, but that would have made it look like a jail. I really like the looks of the shutters. When we close them at the end of the day, we know everything is going to be the same when we come back." Jones said nine shutters were installed, and cover about 520 square feet of windows and doors. "The service was excellent," he said. "They did exactly what they said they would do. It's so nice to deal with a company that lives by its word." Jones said the shutters also keep the morning sunlight out of his east-facing office window, and uses a remote to control them. Rolladen executive Bianca Minnozzi said she has received a number of requests for the shutters from small-business owners throughout the Las Vegas Valley. "Usually we're busier this time of year because people are concerned about the summer temperatures and their power bills," she said. "However, since December, there's been a big increase in calls from business owners who have been hit by break-ins." The shutters are rolling, filled-aluminum slats that cover doors and windows. Industry sources say the shutters not only eliminate break-ins, but also lower power consumption as much as 64 percent. The showroom is situated at 6168 W. Charleston Boulevard, just west of Jones Boulevard. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
