Marina caters to owners at Lake Las Vegas Resort

Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson provides an amenity for its residents that is unique in Southern Nevada -- a 320-acre privately owned lake cared for by a full-service marina.

A variety of lifestyle opportunities has been key to the development of the resort, and the lake has played a major role. Whether it's sailing, fishing, swimming or scuba diving, the lake offers myriad activities for water enthusiasts.

Lake Las Vegas Marina, which is located on the eastern end of the lake and within the guard gates of the private SouthShore community, houses a full-service boat launch, a 104-slip marina and a lighthouse store. Lake Las Vegas Marine Services is based at the marina, and offers boat cleaning, maintenance and refreshment stocking services; instruction in sailing and boating safety; sales of new boats; boat and water toy rentals; and residential dock sales.

Lake Las Vegas Resort owners have the option of purchasing a Harbor Club membership, which is offered exclusively to owners. Membership includes a 20-, 24- or 30-foot boat slip in the first phase of the custom-designed marina; utilities hookup; private dock lockers; and discounts on marine products and services.

In addition to water sports, the resort provides access to golf and hiking, and buyers can choose from a variety of residential offerings.

More than 20 model homes among six neighborhoods are open for touring, and range from golf villas starting at $341,250 to luxury lakeside villas priced from $1.475 million. Custom-home sites terraced into the hillsides are priced from $246,000 to more than $2.1 million.

Lake Las Vegas Resort is being developed by Transcontinental Properties Inc.

To visit, take Lake Mead Drive seven miles east of Boulder Highway to Lake Las Vegas Parkway. The Discovery Centre is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
