MacDonald Highlands presents `life at the top'
"Life at the top" is the term used by the MacDonald Cos. to describe the lifestyle at MacDonald Highlands, a golf community taking shape along a Henderson hillside. Homes terraced into the hillsides or along a private golf course offer views of the valley from higher elevations. "The collection of homes are truly exceptional with spectacular amenities and designs that capitalize on our panoramic views," company President Rich MacDonald said. L'ambiance, an estate along the DragonRidge Country Club, features stone floors with inlaid designs. Measuring 5,174 square feet, the four-bedroom home features a downstairs master suite with separate bath areas and a private retreat. The island kitchen features granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and a breakfast area. Exterior amenities include a courtyard with a fireplace, and a backyard pool and spa overlooking the golf course. It is priced at $1.595 million. El Mirador is a contemporary-style home built into the hillside with views of the city. Measuring 6,880 square feet, the five-bedroom custom home is designed around a swimming pool, 6-foot waterfall and pond with terraces. A curved staircase and elevator lead to the owner suite. Other features include floor-to-ceiling windows, stone accents, a theater and casita. It is priced at $3.3 million. Grandezza features a porte-cochere, tile and stone counter tops. The home measures 5,514 square feet and offers five bedrooms. A backyard swimming pool and spa overlook the golf course. This estate is priced at $1.695 million. Desert Embrace, a two-story, 5,140-square-foot home, has four bedrooms; a sunken great room; and a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, pantry and granite counter tops. The lower level offers a second great room with a wet bar and a theater. The home is priced at $1.4 million. MacDonald Highlands has 10 neighborhoods under development, offering custom lots with city and mountain views. The lots range from one-quarter acre to more than 2 1/2 acres. Prices range from $196,000 to more than $3.5 million. A permanent clubhouse for the golf club is under construction and expected to open by year's end. The course is open to the public until membership capacity is reached. A temporary clubhouse is open; tee times are available.
