Swimming pool buyers
return to Renaissance
When Mike and Sheri MacKenzie bought an in-ground, ceramic-epoxy swimming pool for their new home from Renaissance Pools & Spas, it was the couple's second purchase of a pool from the company.
"We came directly back to Renaissance Pools & Spas because we were impressed by the level of quality and service this company delivers," Mike MacKenzie said. "They did a great job installing our first pool. As promised, it was ready for swimming in just 10 days, plus it required a fraction of the maintenance and chemicals typically needed for a concrete pool. Our new pool will also have an in-floor cleaning system, which is a first-of-its-kind for prefabricated pools. It will make the easy job of cleaning our pool even easier."
The three-year residents of Henderson, also revisited the company because of salesman Jeff Caudill, grandson of the late Jeff Alexander, founder of Renaissance Pools & Spas; and nephew of Jim Alexander, company president.
"Dealing with Jeff Caudill was an enjoyable experience for us through both sales, as he is very knowledgeable and responsive to all of our questions and requests," MacKenzie said. "When you think of building a swimming pool, you typically think of dealing with a bunch of separate contractors over a long period of time. At Renaissance Pools & Spas, literally every aspect of the installation is handled by their in-house staff. That means the level of quality control is much higher, there is no prolonged construction process, and the buyer is enjoying the new pool in a fraction of the time it takes to build a gunite pool."
The ceramic-epoxy pools come with a lifetime structural warranty from the manufacturer, Viking Pools Inc.
Prices for installed pools range from $13,000 to $28,000; financing is available.
For buyers who prefer to handle the installation themselves, there are instructional tapes and other technical support available. Do-it-yourselfers also receive a discount of as much as 40 percent off the price of an installed pool, according to Alexander, who said about 30 percent of his clients do their own installation.
Among the available finishes are "Fire and Diamond," which enhances the potential for solar warming and creates a sparkling effect; and "Moonglow," an application that can make the entire pool, or select areas, glow in the dark.
The showroom is at 1245 N. Boulder Highway, about a half mile south of Sunset Road. The company recently purchased a 1-acre parcel near Craig Road and Interstate 15 for an additional showroom.
Renaissance donates $100 from the sale of each swimming pool to Keepers of the Wild, a nonprofit sanctuary for abandoned or confiscated exotic animals in Southern Nevada.
