Thousands join revelry at Aliante
Thousands of Aliante residents and visitors celebrated the master-planned community's first anniversary at a "Swingin' Block Party." The festivities were held in the North Las Vegas community's Nature Discovery Park. The event featured seven hours of family activities, highlighted by the Purina Incredible Dog Team, concerts, magic, clowns, bounce houses, crafts and refreshments. "Aliante is a community where people really enjoy participating in outdoor events and our `Swingin' Block Party' was certainly no exception," Kimiko Peterson, community marketing manager, said. "From toddlers to active adults, there was something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day and into the evening hours. We're looking forward to having many more exciting events during our second year." Aliante is a development of North Valley Enterprises, an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb Corp. At 1,905 acres, it is comprised of an all-ages village and an age-qualified village. D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes are building homes in the all-ages village, while Del Webb is developing the age-qualified Sun City Aliante. Homes are priced from the $180,000s to the $500,000s. Nearly 430 acres are designated for recreational and public purposes, including the municipal Aliante Golf Club, three city parks, more than 20 miles of trails, and an arroyo. Three schools have been proposed along with 100 acres of commercial development. A fire station opened in April. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to Aliante Parkway, then go south. Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
