Collegians buy new home at Amber Ridge

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Josh and Liz Ignatowicz, students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, recently purchased a new home at Amber Ridge, a Richmond American Homes' neighborhood in the southeastern valley.

"Since we do not have a lot of extra time when school is in session, we decided to buy our new home over spring break," Josh Ignatowicz said. "It was a really nice week; we found the floor plan we wanted and were so excited to be buying a Richmond home.

"It is going to be fun to decorate and make the home our own. We picked some really great products out at the Richmond design center. They had a wonderful selection and (the designer) helped us coordinate everything so it looked good."

The couple selected the 1,638-square-foot Windam, the largest floor plan available at the neighborhood of two-story homes. Each home comes standard with 2 1/2 baths and a one-car garage.

The Windam features three bedrooms, an optional loft or fourth bedroom, and separate living and dining rooms. The residence is priced from the $280,000s.

Buyers can choose from four additional plans.

The 1,195-square-foot Amherst has dual suites upstairs, an upstairs laundry room plus an area that can be used as a tech center. It is priced from the $210,000s.

Priced from the $220,000s is the Concord, a 1,384-square-foot home with two bedrooms and an optional den or third bedroom. The master suite is upstairs. The home is priced from the $220,000s.

The Pembroke measures 1,415 square feet and starts from the $240,000s. All three bedrooms are upstairs, including the master suite with a walk-in closet, an oval tub, and dual-sink vanities with cultured-marble counter tops.

The 1,443-square-foot Hampton model provides two bedrooms upstairs, as well as an optional loft or third bedroom. It is priced from the $240,000s.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Eastern Avenue, head south to St. Rose Parkway and go west. At Maryland Parkway, head north to Levi Avenue, west to Paradise Road and then south.

Richmond American Homes, a subsidiary of MDC Holdings, has more than 30 neighborhoods under development in the valley. All sales offices and models are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday and Friday, when they open at noon.
