The District at Green Valley Ranch will host the eighth annual Festival of the Arts next weekend in Henderson. Festivities are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The event is free and open to the public.

On both days, the District's Main Street will be transformed into an art walk with displays of paintings, sculpture, pottery as well as jewelry by artists and craftsmen who are based out of Nevada, California, Arizona and Utah, among other states.
The Kidz Art Park will be set up on The Green. Activities are planned to include ceramic painting, mural coloring, clay modeling, spin art and storytime.
A nominal fee will be charged for some children's activities.
On Saturday night, musical entertainment will be presented free-of-charge from 6 to 10 p.m.
Melanie Moore & Friends will perform in The Courtyard while Ricardo Griego will perform on The Green.
A development of American Nevada Co., The District is located at 2240 Village Walk Drive.
To view the artists' booths, take the Las Vegas Beltway to Green Valley Parkway, go south to the first traffic light and turn right. To reach the Kidz Art Park, turn left at the traffic light.
