1/2About 600 people attended the recent dedication ceremony for the new Hindu Temple and Cultural Center, located in the Summerlin master-planned community. The Hindu temple, the first to be built in Nevada, will serve as the center of the Las Vegas Valley Hindu community, which comprises more than 2,000 people. It brings the total number of houses of worship in Summerlin to 10. In attendance for the dedication ceremony were, from left, Anil Gupta; Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman; Las Vegas City Councilwoman Lynette Boggs McDonald; Dr. R.D. Prabhu; Tom Warden, vice president of community relations for The Howard Hughes Corp.; Dr. Dipak Desai; and Dr. Ranjit Jain, chairman of the board of trustees for the Hindu Society of Nevada.
