Custom homes available at MacDonald Highlands

MacDonald Highlands, a guard-gated community in Henderson, has a limited number of custom homes ready for purchase. Three homes near the DragonRidge Golf Course have been built by DragonRidge Custom Homes LLC, a partnership between Rich MacDonald, president of MacDonald Cos., and Steve and Bart Jones of Merlin Construction, along with Joel Laub.

"These are truly one-of-a-kind homes with a premier setting within the community and stunning locations on the golf course," MacDonald said. "No detail has been overlooked, including cabinetry, counter tops and flooring selections which were made working with noted local designer Leslie Parraguirre of Colours Inc."

The three showcase homes, called L'ambiance, Grandézza and Bella Vista, range from about 5,100 to 5,500 square feet and are priced from $1.999 million to $2.195 million. The three- and four-bedroom homes feature stone exteriors, home theaters, swimming pools and spas, landscaping, among other appointments. The homes all have views of the golf course.

L'ambiance, a 5,174-square-foot home, features stone flooring with inlaid designs, a gated courtyard with a fireplace, and butted glass in the downstairs master suite, offering views of the course's sixth hole and a water feature.

The 5,514-square-foot Grandézza features a porte-cochere entry and staircase leading to two wings, and the Bella Vista measures 5,639 square feet with a theater room, space for an office or gym.

Upon completion, the community will feature 17 neighborhoods spread over 1,200 acres. Eight custom-home neighborhoods under development with lots priced from $150,000 to more than $2 million are: The Highlands with lots offering partial city and mountain views; Lochmere with golf frontage, lake and mountain views; Palisades and Lairmont with golf frontage, city and mountain views; Montrose with golf frontage and mountain views; and Lochinver Ridge and Glenbrook Canyon with city and mountain views from hillside lots. Stonehaven at MacDonald Highlands features semicustom homes by Toll Bros.

Amenities include the DragonRidge Golf Course, which incorporates the slopes and arroyos of the mountains into its design.

A clubhouse, scheduled for completion next year, will feature a pro shop, exercise facility, pool, and fine and casual dining facilities. A temporary clubhouse is open; tee times are available.
