Pardee earns Energy Star honor
Pardee Homes was named an Energy Star Partner of the Year by the Environmental Protection Agency for its contribution to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by building energy-efficient homes. Pardee, a partner in the program since 1998, was honored for building homes that either meet or exceed Energy Star specifications for energy efficiency. Pardee is the first multiregional home builder to commit to making all its new home Energy Star compliant. "Pardee Homes is very pleased to include Energy Star as part of our overall value commitment," said Mike McGee, president and chief operating officer. "We are proud to be associated with a new generation of homes that are better for homeowners and the planet." Every Energy Star home keeps 4,500 pounds of greenhouse gases out of the air each year. In 2001, the Energy Star program helped Americans save enough energy to power 10 million homes and reduce air pollution the equivalent of taking 12 million cars off the road -- all while saving consumers $6 billion. The Energy Star award recognizes those who strive to build energy-efficient homes that provide significant cost savings to consumers and benefit the environment. Recipients are selected from more than 1,000 program participants. Pardee has built homes for more than 25,000 families in Southern Nevada since 1952, and offers 13 new-home neighborhoods throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
