Low density of MacDonald Highlands accentuates custom lifestyle
Although zoned to accommodate 1,150 homes, plans for MacDonald Highlands call for fewer residences to be built within the guard-gated community in Henderson.
"Our focus is to create a truly custom lifestyle by offering larger estate lots for buyers," said Rich MacDonald, owner of the development. "Building a luxurious estate home wedged tightly between two other houses really defeats the purpose. What we're trying to achieve at MacDonald Highlands is a gracious, country club atmosphere where privacy is assured by virtue of the acreage that surrounds the home."

The 1,200-acre hillside community features two points of entry, each with a guardhouse, granite cobblestones, palm trees, rock formations and drought-resistant plants.
The central amenity is the private DragonRidge Country Club with an 18-hole championship golf course set back into the canyons. The facility also includes a clubhouse and a new ballroom.
Custom-home sites are available in four neighborhoods, each with its own distinct topography and views. Home buyers can choose from flat golf frontage, multilevel pads or hillside elevations. The lots are priced from $950,000.
Resident amenities include three parks on a total of 10 acres with tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; play areas; and picnic facilities. Five miles of fitness trails are planned.
