`Mother's Day Magic' provides family fun in Green Valley

Families looking for a special Mother's Day experience are invited to enjoy "Mother's Day Magic" at Green Valley Plaza from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Henderson.

Sponsored by American Nevada Corp., the primary developer of Green Valley, and plaza merchants, the free event will offer a variety of activities, including sidewalk sales and lunch specials; free calls to Mom anywhere in the country; complementary flowers; chocolates; makeovers for Mom; kids' gift making and picture coloring; cookie decorating; face painting; a balloon artist; and food sampling.

Entertainment will be provided by the Kinda Klassy Steel Drum Band, Tumbleweed Barbershop Quartet, Vegas Valley Sweet Adelines, Magician Michael Little and the Cimarron Choir Chamber Singers.

A radio remote will feature a mother-daughter look-alike contest and a variety of prizes and giveaways.

The National Missing Children's Locate Center will offer free children's fingerprinting, and caricatures will be available for a nominal fee.

The shopping center is located at 2716 N. Green Valley Parkway.
