Sweethearts buy at Sun City Anthem
Two home buyers at Sun City Anthem in Henderson are building a new house and a new life together after finding each other "again." Bill and Pat Kent, who met at the age of 11, were acquainted throughout high school in Beaverton, Ore., and even dated once, at a Sadie Hawkins Day football game. They went their separate ways after graduation -- she became a travel agent in Las Vegas and he was an airline executive. Fifty years later, they met at a high school reunion, corresponded for two years, and then were reunited at their "Golden Grads" high school reunion in June 2000. They married four months later. "We're so much alike it's hard to believe. We grew up with the same values and similar backgrounds," Pat Kent said. "We considered living in Seattle, but we love the idea of an age-related community with people of similar interests and age group. People here seem to be independent and interesting." The couple purchased the Colonial model at the age-qualified community. Their 1,802-square-foot home, which will be finished in June, will fit their needs perfectly with a customized computer room. Located within Del Webb Corp.'s Anthem master plan, the community features 17 models, measuring from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet and priced from $137,750 to more than $500,000. The community features the 75,000-square-foot Anthem Center, Trumpets Restaurant and Lounge, and golf course, mountain and city views. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway. The sales office is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
