Rhodes Ranch builders sponsor fund-raiser
Hundreds of participants gathered last month at Callaway Golf Center to take part in this year's second "Hole-In-One Shootout," a fund-raiser for local youth sports activity groups. The builders of Rhodes Ranch -- Astoria Homes, Desert Oak Homes, KB Home, Rhodes Homes and Royal Construction Co. -- were primary sponsors of the event. Twenty-five participants reached the final round, which was held on April 1. Shooting towards a collection of pins 500 yards distant, finalists had the opportunity to win from $10,000 to $1 million (or a golf course home from Rhodes Ranch) as indicated by the 16 different colored flags on the green. A gold flag was situated front and center on the green, representing Rhodes Ranch's sponsorship. However, no one walked off with the $1 million prize. Las Vegas resident Craig Posa placed closest, when his ball came within 16 feet of the pin. "The Hole-In-One Shootout is growing at a tremendous rate, and it has been very beneficial for the junior sports programs," event host Steve Ramos of Las Vegas Promotions said. "Each event we hold is a fund-raiser, and we have been fortunate to receive wonderful support from local sponsors such as Rhodes Ranch." The Rhodes Ranch community is located in the southwestern valley and may be visited by taking Rainbow Boulevard to Warm Springs Road and traveling west. |
