Buyers prepare for family life in Seven Hills

August is expected to be a busy month for former San Jose, Calif., residents Scott and Cristen Morris. Not only are they expecting their first child in August, their new home under construction in the Seven Hills community in Henderson is scheduled to be ready as well.

Their home, which is being constructed on a cul-de-sac in Pardee Homes' Renaissance neighborhood, is across the street from a home being built for Cristen's mother.

"We work in the travel industry, so we were able to consider many different locales for our family home. During our search, we must have looked at about 500 homes along the coast of California. Then, on a visit to Las Vegas to see Scott's mom, we decided to go out looking at model homes to get some decorating ideas for our townhome in California. Upon entering the Seven Hills community and walking through the Renaissance model homes, we knew our search was over," Cristen Morris said.

"Many people in California have the preconceived notion that living in Las Vegas means living in the center of the valley, surrounded by all of the casinos. This is certainly not the case with Seven Hills, which is a beautifully-designed, suburban community with everything families could want. The landscaping is gorgeous, there are lots of wonderful views, plenty of parks and trails, and all the day-to-day conveniences are close to home. We know this is going to be a wonderful place to live and to raise a family."

Scott Morris shared his wife's enthusiasm.

"From the time we first drove into this community, everything came together for us. We found the perfect home, neighborhood and community in a single day. The home we chose has everything we could possibly want, including a spacious home site, where we can eventually enjoy a pool and outdoor entertaining," he said.

Plans for the 1,300-acre community, which is a development of Silver Canyon Partnership in the foothills of Black Mountain, include more than 3,000 homes, including about 300 custom homes; 25 neighborhoods; city and neighborhood parks; and miles of trails and walkways.

About one-third of its acreage is dedicated to open space, and most neighborhoods interconnect or adjoin community parks or walkways. The four city parks within the community are designed to complement the desert terrain and include basketball and tennis courts, picnic shelters, soccer and baseball fields, volleyball courts, and playgrounds.

Dozens of model homes are open within the community, priced from the low $200,000s to about $350,000. Custom-home sites are priced from the $200,000s to more than $1 million. Views of the city, a nearby golf course and mountains are available.

Neighborhoods open for sales are: Renaissance by Pardee Homes, Palazzo Monte by US Home, Meridiana by Trident Homes, Encore at Palatine Hill by Richmond American Homes, and Villa Villagio by Astoria Homes. Custom-home sites are available in the neighborhoods of Calabria, Venezia and Terracina by Silver Canyon Partnership; and Corcovado and Portofino Custom Homesites by Nevastar Investment Corp.

The community's information pavilion is located just inside the community on Seven Hills Drive, which is off of St. Rose Parkway, about one-half mile west of the Eastern Avenue and St. Rose Parkway intersection. Sales office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
