Celebratory mood permeates Aliante
The official grand opening of the valley's newest master-planned community, Aliante, continues today with a range of family-oriented activities and a chance to win $50,000 toward the purchase of a new home. Visitors to the North Las Vegas community may register to win the grand prize at each neighborhood's sales center. Today's festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., including tours of the community's 20-acre Nature Discovery Park, Aliante Information Gallery, and 35 model homes in 10 neighborhoods. There will be refreshments, live entertainment, a radio remote and prizes. T-shirts also will be given out, while supplies last. Tours of the community will begin at the information gallery, where the party tent, entertainment and refreshments will be located. From there, trolleys will provide transportation to the model homes. Visitors should park at the gallery, which is located at the southeast corner of Interstate 215 and Aliante Parkway (formerly Simmons Street). To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then turn left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go south. Aliante is being developed by North Valley Enterprises, an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb Corp. Encompassing more than 1,900 acres, the community consists of family and active-adult villages, which will have as many as 7,500 homes upon buildout. Builders in the family village include D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes. Del Webb is building the Sun City Aliante age-qualified community. About 22 percent of the community has been designated for recreational and public purposes, including an 18-hole municipal golf course; three city parks; more than 20 miles of concrete trails and linear parks; and an arroyo. Land also has been set aside for two elementary schools, a middle school, a fire station and 100 acres of commercial development.
