Local builders focus on MacDonald Highlands
Steve and Bart Jones, native Las Vegans and owners of Merlin Construction, have teamed with fellow native Las Vegan Joel Laub, as well as with Rich MacDonald, president of MacDonald Cos., to create DragonRidge Custom Homes, which has three homes available for purchase in MacDonald Highlands in Henderson. "We've been building luxury custom homes in Southern Nevada for 15 years, and could not pass up a great opportunity to build in a premier location within MacDonald Highlands," Bart Jones said. "Rich MacDonald has created a memorable luxury community and allowed us to build three homes that truly blend in with the overall atmosphere of MacDonald Highlands." The three homes, called L'ambiance, Grandézza and Bella Vista, are located along the DragonRidge Golf Club and range from about 5,100 to 5,500 square feet. Prices range from $1.999 million to $2.195 million for the three- and four-bedroom homes, which feature exterior stone, home theaters and other upscale appointments. L'ambiance is a 5,174-square-foot home featuring stone flooring with inlaid designs. Its downstairs master suite is enhanced with butted glass showcasing the views of the sixth hole and water feature. The home also features a gated front courtyard with fireplace. The Grandézza home features a porte cochere entry and a staircase leading to two defined wings. The 5,514-square-foot home also affords views of the golf course and its water feature. Bella Vista measures 5,639 square feet and its living room, dining room and bar areas are enhanced by views of the back yard and golf course. The home also has a theater room, as well as space for an office or home gym. "These are truly one-of-a-kind homes, with stunning locations on the golf course in a premier setting within the community," MacDonald said. "No detail has been spared, and the homes are filled with luxury amenities including swimming pools and spas and surrounded by mature landscaping." Upon completion, the guard-gated community will feature 17 neighborhoods spread across 1,200 acres. Eight custom-home neighborhoods are currently under development, with lots priced from $150,000 to more than $2 million, some of which also offer views of the golf course. The Highlands neighborhood offers partial city and mountain views; Lochmere has golf frontage, lake and mountain views; Palisades and Lairmont feature golf frontage, city and mountain views; Montrose provides golf frontage and mountain views; and Lochinver Ridge and Glenbrook Canyon feature hillside lots with city and mountain views. Stonehaven at MacDonald Highlands features semicustom homes by Toll Bros. The golf course incorporates the slopes and arroyos of the surrounding desert into its Jay Morrish and David Druzisky design. Its clubhouse, which is scheduled for completion next year, will feature a pro shop, exercise facility, swimming pool, upscale dining room, and mixed grill and lounge. A temporary clubhouse is open, and tee times are available. To visit the community's information office at 1700 W. Horizon Ridge Pkwy., Suite 100, take Interstate 215 to Valle Verde Drive, turn south and proceed to Horizon Ridge Parkway. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
