Summerlin office designs draw praise

When it comes to innovative office design, the Summerlin master-planned community features some unique environments, including the corporate headquarters of marketing firm R&R Partners and JMA Architecture Studios.

"The community embraces and invites creative style and design. As a result, business owners are attracted to the area," leasing agent Randy Broadhead said.

R&R Partners' headquarters was recently recognized by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties for its interior design, which was handled by Lucchesi Galati Architects. The building occupies 68,000 square feet in Corporate Pointe, a 54-acre business park at Charleston Boulevard and Pavilion Center Drive. Inside, the company's departments are designed as neighborhoods around a town center fronted by a main street. A central patio for meetings was incorporated into the design.

"Our goal was to create a strategic, entertaining and thought-provoking environment that reflects our work hard/play hard culture," chief financial officer Jim King said.

JMA Architecture Studios, a 17,500-square-foot building recognized by NAIOP in 2000, is located in The Crossing Business Center on Town Center Drive. It showcases the firm's dedication to "sustainable" architecture and creating structures that work in concert with their surroundings.

"As designers, we look at the natural beauty of the landscape to create a building exterior in harmony with its environment. Summerlin was the ideal location for our office," company President Tom Schoeman said.

Summerlin has ranked as the nation's best-selling master-planned community for 10 of the past 11 years, according to independent surveys.

Amenities include eight golf courses, 105 parks, more than 100 miles of trails, 18 schools, houses of worship, shopping centers, medical facilities and business parks.
