Summerlin resident part of `featured builder' program

Pete Reiger is a Summerlin resident and 20-year custom-home builder. He is also president of P.M.R. Homes, which is one of five builders in the master-planned community's Featured Builder program.

"I like building homes in the Summerlin area," Reiger, an area resident for 38 years, said. "Summerlin's numerous parks, trails and golf courses make it a very desirable place to live, and the community's many attributes make it easy to sell my homes and find customers for custom-home projects."

Reiger currently has homes under construction in Willow Falls, a custom neighborhood in Willow Creek, and in Promontory, a guard-gated custom neighborhood in The Ridges, which offers valley views.

For all his projects, Reiger has a specific approach.

"When I build a home, I work directly with the client from selecting a custom-home site to recommending an architect through move-in," he said. "I also serve as the project supervisor, so my clients deal with me personally throughout the entire process."

According to Reiger, his hands-on approach helps create customers for life, as well as a referral system.

"I'm still doing work for clients whose homes I built 10 to 15 years ago," Reiger said. "I'm also involved with my clients immediately after move-in to make sure they're happy with their home and promptly address any desired modifications."

Summerlin aligns the western edge of the Las Vegas Valley and is comprised of villages. There are two Tournament Players Club golf courses, a Jack Nicklaus-designed Bear's Best course and five others.

Summerlin is also home to nearly 100 neighborhood and village parks, nearly 100 completed miles of trails, 16 schools, houses of worship, shopping centers, medical facilities, cultural facilities, business parks, and nearly 100 model homes.

Single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums are priced from the mid-$100,000s to more than $700,000. Custom lots from one-quarter acre to three-quarters of an acre are priced from the mid-$100,000s to more than $1 million, and predesigned custom homes are priced from $500,000 to more than $1 million. Apartment homes offer monthly rents starting from the high $700s.

To visit the community's home finding center, take Sahara Avenue west, past Hualapai Way to Town Center Drive. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara. The center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
