The Collection at Rhodes Ranch designs island kitchens

Builder designs for function, luxury in southwestern valley

Plan 2547 in The Collection neighborhood at Rhodes Ranch, a master-planned community in the southwestern portion of the Las Vegas Valley, features large kitchens with work islands that have become popular with buyers, said Taylor Zink, a sales agent for the locally based home builder.

"Visitors are drawn to the design elements as well as the open and workable layout of the kitchen in this plan. It is also steps away from the great room, which makes it ideal for entertaining or just spending time with the family," Zink said. "The Collection Plan 2547 offers top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances and a fully functional decorative vent hood over the island."

Named for its square footage, the single-story home offers buyers three bedrooms, four baths, den, sitting area, great room and a two-car garage.

The design is centered by the kitchen area, appointed with a expanded preparation island. The home includes a casita that can only be accessed from outside of the home.

Designed for guests, owner's studio, or private quarters for extended family, the casita is designed with one bedroom and bath, as well as a sitting room.

"The casita is perfect for an in-home office or for an older child returning from college. It is pre-plumbed for a kitchenette that allows for a more versatile space," Zink said. "Plan 2547 is one of our best sellers because the home is really designed for the way people live today."

Part of the Van Gogh series of homes, the model includes granite countertops and a structured wiring package.

Van Gogh has three floor plans, ranging from 2,547 to 4,138 square feet. These homes come in one-, two- and three-story plans.

The designs include two to five bedroom plans, with options including libraries and lofts available.

The Collection, nestled in the Rhodes Ranch golf course community, offers three different series -- the Monet, Matisse and Van Gogh. The 14 single-, two- and three-story homes range from 1,467 to 4,138 square feet and are priced from the $300,000s.

Residents have access to the community's signature Ted Robinson-designed 18-hole golf course. The gated community also offers 24-hour roving security patrols.

The master plan's recreation center is the 35,000-square-foot R-Club, which includes an indoor workout facility with weights and cardiovascular equipment, a full-length basketball court, two racquetball/handball courts and six billiards tables.

In addition to fitness amenities, the facility has social areas that feature three fireplaces along with couches, tables and chairs. This spring it will open the Fun Zone, a large outdoor water park.

To view the two new models in The Collection neighborhood, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Durango Drive, then go south to Rhodes Ranch Parkway.

The builder is also selling homes in its Palms Bay and Pacific Mist neighborhoods at Rhodes Ranch.

Sales offices are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
