Incentives lead Wagner Homes to record quarter

Wagner Homes experienced strong sales in its four Day Dawn single-family developments in the northwestern Las Vegas Valley, according to escrow coordinator Roma Nelson.

The builder will have sold about 60 homes by the end of March, a 25 percent increase over the same period one year ago.

Nelson, who has been with Wagner Homes for the past three years, said home buyers continue to make use of the builder's new home incentives. "First off, we are the only builder which offers up to $80,000 in incentives to be used toward mortgage payments up to three years along with options, closing costs or interest rate buy-downs," Nelson said.

"This company really works hard to make homeownership a possibility."

The builder is now participating in a workforce housing campaign.

Originally initiated by the federal government to aid community service professionals such as educators, fire and medical personnel and police officers, in purchasing a home, Wagner Homes' workforce housing is based on providing special incentives.

Such incentives will include zero down payments, builder-paid closing costs and monthly mortgage payments paid up to three years. According to builder Paul Wagner, the company will also participate in contingency sales.

"There is no reason why anyone should not be able to own their own home," said Wagner, who formed the company more than 20 years ago.

The neighborhoods include three gated developments featuring one- and two-story homes with three to five bedrooms, measuring as much as 2,963 square feet. The homes are priced from the low-$300,000s.

"We have had a great first three months," Wagner said. "This year is already on a record pace."

The builder's active subdivisions include Day Dawn and Day Dawn II at Durango and Grand Teton drives; Vista at Deer Springs Way and Fort Apache Road; Day Dawn Fusion at Fort Apache and Alexander roads.
