Summerlin residents gather for circus

Circus tents decorated The Crossing Park in Summerlin last weekend for the eighth annual Summerlin Circus, a special event for community residents. The American Crown Circus by the Osorio Bros. presented four sold-out shows with acrobats, aerialists, daredevils and clowns.

"The Summerlin Circus epitomizes the community's small town ambiance ... ," said Lezlie Barnson-DeNardin, director of community relations for The Summerlin Council, the nonprofit branch of the Summerlin Community Association which coordinates activities for residents. "Events like the circus contribute to Summerlin's appeal as a vibrant and tight-knit community that offers its residents a high quality of life with much to do and see."

The circus is one of more than two dozen annual events planned exclusively for residents.

Located along the valley's western rim, the community is being developed in villages and is home to several golf courses, 107 parks, trails, schools, houses of worship, retail and business centers, medical facilities and cultural facilities.

Available single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums are showcased by nearly 120 models and priced from the low $200,000s to more than $700,000. Custom-home sites in The Ridges are priced from the high $500,000s to more than $1 million, and predesigned custom homes are priced from $2.1 million. Apartments offer monthly rents starting from the low $800s.
