Pulte sponsors Wag-A-Tail walkathon
For the fourth year, Pulte Homes is sponsoring the Wag-A-Tail Walk-A-Thon in Summerlin. The eighth annual event to benefit the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, April 4, at The Hills Park. It includes a 1- or 2-mile walk, with or without participants' dogs, as well as entertainment, contests and demonstrations. Additional activities in the park include 8 a.m. stupid pet tricks auditions, photographs of owners with their dogs, a doggie bake sale, and low-cost pet microchipping. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the walkathon set to start at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $25 and includes a T-shirt, doggie scarf and goodie bag. Entry forms are available at all Pulte Homes neighborhoods. In addition, participants can register from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the humane society's booth at Petapalooza at Sam Boyd Stadium's practice fields, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday at PETCO stores in the western valley. Prize packages will be awarded to the top pledge collectors. The humane society provides shelter, food, medical care and spay or neuter services for homeless animals in Clark County. Proceeds also help the nonprofit organization with its educational programs. The no-kill organization provides foster homes for animals until they can be adopted. To visit The Hills Park, take U.S. Highway 95 to Summerlin Parkway, go west to Rampart Boulevard and exit north. Proceed to Hillpointe Road and turn left. Or, take Interstate 215 to Summerlin Parkway and head east to Rampart. Pulte offers 18 new-home subdivisions in the valley including Paradiso, Miramonte, Escala and Palomar in Summerlin; Serenata and Vialetto in North Las Vegas; Silverstone Ranch and Wyeth Ranch in the northwest; and Anthem Highlands in Henderson.
