Condo lifestyle draws buyers to Vistana

When John and Connie Crowe first visited Vistana, a condominium development in southwest Las Vegas by Rhodes Homes, they knew it would be their new home.

Connie Crowe, who works as a greeter for a major retailer, was impressed by Vistana's resort-style atmosphere.

"It really looks tropical and there's no worry about the yardwork," she said. "It's a good feeling to come home to a nice place."

The couple chose the Nice floor plan, which features one bedroom and one bath in 723 square feet.

"The Nice is not really small and it's not really big," Connie Crowe said. "It's the perfect size for our lifestyle."

John Crowe said homeownership is better than paying rent.

"The best thing about purchasing a home at Vistana is that it was cheaper than rent for us, and we get to live in a community with a wide variety of ages. I like that. (Also,) I love to golf and there's a course nearby at Rhodes Ranch."

The Crowes will move in during phase three, which has a September completion date.

"We're ready to move in," Connie Crowe said.

Common area amenities include a swimming pool, spa and two-story fitness center. A second pool is under construction.

Buyers can choose from nine floor plans. Three feature one bedroom and one bath in 670 to 796 square feet; five have two bedrooms and two baths, and range from 847 to 1,200 square feet; and one plan has three bedrooms and two baths in 1,413 square feet.

Prices start from the mid-$70,000s to the mid-$130,000s.

An appliance package and window coverings are included with each home purchase.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Durango Drive, then go south to Warm Springs Road. The sales office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
