    In nine years, Summerlin has grown from 20,000 residents in five villages to 80,000 residents in 16 villages. Housing and commercial growth has been rapid in the master-planned community since Daniel C. Van Epp joined The Howard Hughes Corp. in 1995 as president of its Summerlin division.

    Pardee nets green building award

    Pardee Homes received the Green Project of the Year award at the 2004 National Green Building Conference this month in Austin, Texas. Sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders, the competition promoted environmentally responsible and resource-efficient construction methods known as green building.
