As chair of the Rhodes Homes Charitable Giving Committee and board member of The Public Education Foundation, when Glynda Rhodes learned a family of several students at Judith D. Steele Elementary needed furniture for their home, she enlisted the design team from her firm, i.d. Interior Design, to furnish the family's need.
The design firm's efforts to outfit the home of Theresa Day and her family, from living room and dining room areas to bedrooms, were combined with the support of the school's principal Beverly Ashford.

"It's wonderful that companies such as i.d. Interior Design respond to the needs of people in their community," said Principal Ashford.
"It's important for people to know that others are looking out for them, which in turn encourages them to look out for others, as well."
Five members of the Rhodes Homes and i.d. staff delivered the furnishings and helped with their installation at the Day family home.
"The talented professionals at Rhodes Homes and i.d. Interior Design were thrilled to be able to apply their skills toward making a positive impact in someone's lives," said Glynda Rhodes. "Merrily Caldwell and the i.d. team did a great job in selecting furniture and Rhodes Homes employees helped put it all together for the Day family."
Glynda Rhodes learned about the opportunity to help the Day family through The Public Education Foundation. The organization develops and implements school improvement initiatives, creates model programs, awards grants and scholarships, and leverages community resources to support, strengthen and improve public education in Clark County.
"The commitment that Ashford and her teachers and staff have towards making a positive impact in the community is truly inspiring," Rhodes said. "We're very thankful that The Public Education Foundation and Steele Elementary invited us to be a part of something so rewarding."
The Public Education Foundation is anchored through a series of sponsorships, donations and events throughout the year. Rhodes Ranch Golf Club and Tuscany Golf Club facilities host two annual golf tournaments on behalf of the organization.
The builder has donated several hundred thousand dollars towards the organization's efforts.
The Public Education Foundation was established 15 years ago to work with teachers to provide students with the support necessary to not only succeed in the classroom, but to succeed in life.
