Auto care center nears completion in Summerlin

Summerlin residents may soon find the car repair process more palatable.

The 46,000-square-foot Charleston Auto Care Plaza will open in May in the master-planned community, and it will feature auto service merchants and retailers, as well as fast-food and sit-down restaurants.

Located on West Charleston Boulevard between Hualapai Way and Town Center Drive, the plaza is designed to maximize convenience for auto patrons, according to Bart Pebbles of Caliber Retail Properties Group.

"Nobody likes to be inconvenienced by having to wait for their car to be fixed or serviced," Pebbles said. "That's why we're bringing a variety of auto service companies together with a variety of restaurants. The center will give people options while they wait."

The committed tenants are Midas, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, American Auto Care, Asian Imports, Quizno's Subs, Arby's, Taco Bell and Papa John's Pizza.

"We've been able to attract top-quality businesses because of the center's attractive design," Pebbles said. "Like most facilities in Summerlin, the Auto Care Plaza is being designed to the community's high standards."

Other facilities under development in Summerlin Centre include Centre Pointe, a 150,000-square-foot shopping center, and Corporate Pointe, a 364,000-square-foot office park.

Developed by The Howard Hughes Corp., the community is situated along the western rim of the valley and is unfolding in villages, each with a major park or golf course.

Houses, townhomes and condominiums are priced from under $100,000 to more than $700,000. Custom lots ranging from one-quarter acre to three-quarters of an acre range from under $100,000 to more than $1 million, and predesigned custom homes are priced from $500,000 to more than $1 million. Apartments offer monthly rents starting from the $700s.

To visit the Home Finding Center, take Sahara Avenue west, past Hualapai Way, to Town Center Drive. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara and go west.

The center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
