Stillwater Canyon previews two new models
U.S. Home is staging a "dusty shoe" open house today at its Stillwater Canyon neighborhood in the southwestern valley to preview two model homes that are under construction. The event features a radio remote from noon to 2 p.m., and free gifts and refreshments throughout the afternoon. "This a `dusty shoe' open house because the new models are still in the framing stage, but our visitors can do a walk through of the floor plans," Vicki Zoot, an executive for the builder, said. The new models -- the Brentwood and San Clemente -- are from the builder's Laureate Series and have been available at the neighborhood, but were not previously included in its model home complex. According the Zoot, the existing model homes will be offered for sale. Buyers can also take advantage of the builder's promotion of a free spa tub and garage built-ins included with the purchase of a home. "Stillwater Canyon continues U.S. Home's emphasis on the luxury-home market," Zoot said. "That is the reason we decided to showcase two of our most popular Laureate Series luxury homes as models for the community." With 70X110 home sites, nine one- and two-story floor plans are available, ranging from 2,567 to 4,500 square feet. Prices start from the $220,000s. The single-story Brentwood plan ranges from 2,550 to more than 3,000 square feet with design options. The home features four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, formal living and dining rooms, a family room, and three-car garage. Options include an owner suite bath with a 6-foot shower stall, tub or spa; dual owner suites; study; and a fifth bedroom with a full bath. The home is priced from the $230,000s. The San Clemente measures as large as 4,200 square feet and features a 19-foot ceiling in the entry, and living and dining rooms. The home also offers five bedrooms, three baths, a loft and three-car garage. Options include a rounded balcony; as many as seven bedrooms, including a first-floor bedroom with a full bath; verandas; and a den. The home is priced from the $270,000s. Standard kitchen features include gas cook tops with sealed burners, double ovens, pantries, islands, breakfast bars, granite counter tops, oak cabinetry, and dining nooks. The homes also feature art and media niches, pot shelves, archways, alcoves, oak stair railings and baseboards, colored tile accents in the baths and showers, dual-owner suite options, and ceramic-tile flooring in the entry. To visit, take Tropicana Avenue to Fort Apache Road, turn south and drive about a half mile to the neighborhood. The sales office is open daily from 9:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m.
