COLUMN: McKinney-James forms consulting firm

-- Rose McKinney-James has formed Energy Works Consulting LLC, which serves public policy clients with a focus on energy, education and environmental issues. McKinney-James resigned as president of Brown & Partners to start the company. She has also served as a Public Utilities commissioner; president and chief executive officer of Corporation for Solar Technology & Renewable Resources; and was the first director of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry.

-- Bob Hamrick, president and chief executive at Coldwell Banker Premier Realty, has been named to the USAA MoversAdvantage Advisory Council, a real estate and relocation services program offered by USAA Federal Savings Bank and its subsidiary, USAA Relocation Services.

-- Colours Inc., an interior design firm, has relocated to 7373 Peak Drive, Suite 230.

-- Terra West Property Management has added Chartered Development, a home building firm, to its list of clients.

-- Ross Bennett of the Business Properties Group represented the company in its five-year lease of 2,000 square feet at 1550 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suites N and O, in Henderson, to Allstate Insurance for $235,725.

-- Charles Van Geel of American Nevada Corp. represented the company in its five-year lease of 1,569 square feet in Green Valley Corporate Center at 2275 Corporate Circle in Henderson to GGM Investments, represented by Dale Brown of Brownstone Commercial Real Estate and Brad Peterson of CB Richard Ellis for $208,000. In another transaction, Mike Dunn and Charles Van Geel of American Nevada Corp. represented the company in its 63-month lease of 54,898 square feet at 2550 Paseo Verde Parkway in Green Valley Corporate Center South to Employers Insurance Company of Nevada for $5.2 million.

-- GVA Industrial Property Group's Dean Willmore represented Breslin Builders in its five-year lease of 18,279 square feet at 3430 W. Sunset Road to Timberline Architectural Openings for $666,408. In another transaction, Art Farmanali represented Suncrest Commerce Center in its one-year lease of 12,000 square feet at 1051 Marycrest Road, in Henderson, to Bachiero Event Services for $57,600.

-- Soozi Jones Walker of Realty Executives of Nevada represented N & N I in its 60-month lease of 2,100 square feet at 4545 W. Spring Mountain Road, Suite 103, to Silver Express for $163,667. Walker represented R&R Plaza in its 60-month lease of 4,450 square feet at 8064 W. Sahara Ave., Suites A and B, to Realty Success Systems, represented by Krystal Sherry, for $472,776. Walker also represented Shadow Partners in two lease transactions at 400 Shadow Lane: 63 months for 1,643 square feet to Teresita Lu Melocotonor for $198,463; and 60 months for 2,755 square feet to the Nevada Department of Administration of Building and Grounds for $289,608. Walker also represented Randazzo Partners in their 120-month lease of 4,947 square feet at 9525 Hillwood Drive to Las Vegas Investment Advisors for $1.2 million.

-- Alberto Jauregui and Pasquale Ciavarella of Nevada Land Commercial Real Estate represented A.M. Properties in its five-year lease of 840 square feet at 3211 N. Tenaya Way, Suite 114, to United Hearing Aid Center for $90,720. In another transaction, Ciavarella represented Edward D. Jones & Co. in its five-year lease of 1,000 square feet at 2571 Anthem Village Drive, Suite 3, in Henderson, from The Marketplace at Anthem Village, represented by Dan Adamson of R.O.I. Commercial Real Estate, for $136,800.
