When David and Fran Quick moved from Colorado to Las Vegas about a year ago with their two children, Samantha and David III, they said they were looking for a little of the serenity and landscape of their Colorado origins.
"We moved to Las Vegas to be closer to our family and friends," Fran Quick said.

"We were drawn to the southwest area of the valley because some friends live nearby, and we liked Coyote Willows right away. The community has a nice quiet location near the mountains, and we were really impressed by the lot size. We were using a broker, and he was very knowledgeable about Richmond American Homes. His recommendation meant a lot."
The neighborhood offers six floor plans ranging from 1,600 to 2,050 square feet.
Home designs offer three to five bedrooms and 2 1/2 to three baths.
Prices start from the $280,000s.
The Quicks selected the 2,050-square-foot Willow, a two-story home featuring a circular entry, three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.
"We also liked how roomy the kitchen and family room are," David Quick said. "I was really impressed with the square footage you get for your money."
Priced from the $330,000s, the home includes a dining room, family room, and kitchen with nook on the main floor.
The second level features a master bedroom suite with private bath and two secondary bedrooms, as well as full bath, laundry room, loft and tech center.
"We chose one of the quick move-in homes, so a lot of our design options were already picked out," Fran Quick said.
"But," she said, "we went to the Home Gallery anyway and really enjoyed it. The Design Consultants were wonderful and showed us all the high-end items being installed. Our home has tile throughout, which is perfect for our two dogs."
The Quick family moved into their new home in mid-January.
The 1,650-square-foot Cottonwood is also available at the neighborhood.
It contains four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a study with vaulted ceilings on the main level and three bedrooms and a full bath.
The upper level features the master bedroom suite with private bath and deck, laundry room, gourmet kitchen, dining room and family room.
Measuring 1,700 square feet is the Maple. The family-inspired design contains three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.
The main level features an open layout with the kitchen looking out into the family room and dining room.
The staircase is set toward the back of the home.
The second floor is highlighted by a loft at the top of the stairs.
The Maple is priced from the low $300,000s.
Three other floor plans area available: the Spruce, Juniper and Cedar.
The four-bedroom Spruce offers an optional loft or fifth bedroom upstairs.
The Juniper and Cedar are both three-bedroom homes. The designs offer an optional fourth bedroom on the main floor in lieu of the dining room.
