Pardee celebrates debut of DakotaSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
Local Girl Scout Juliettes will be selling their trademark cookies today and tomorrow during the grand opening of Pardee Homes' Dakota neighborhood, which is located within the Shadow Mountain Ranch community in the southwestern valley. "Families can spend an afternoon shopping for a new home, as well as for Girl Scout cookies," sales executive Ray Landry said. "Our visitors may choose from four floor plans at Dakota and from eight varieties of cookies in one convenient location." Dakota's single- and two-story designs measure from 1,431 to 2,925 square feet with as many as six bedrooms, four baths and two- or three-car garages. Prices start from the $170,000s to the low $200,000s. The Girl Scouts will be selling cookies from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and from noon to 3 p.m. tomorrow. "Pardee has been a longtime supporter of scouting programs, and we can't think of a better partner than the Girl Scouts to help welcome our first visitors to the family-oriented neighborhood of Dakota," Landry said. Guests also can register to win a $250 gift certificate to a home improvement center. All homes at Dakota bear the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star seal, certifying they exceed national energy efficiency standards by at least 30 percent. "Dakota offers the very latest, from state-of-the-art design to energy conservation," Landry said. "Add to that the convenience of a great location ... and you've got the perfect combination for family living at its best." Standard features include stair rails with turned pickets; lighting fixtures; and kitchens with ceramic-tile counter tops, oak cabinets, pantries and appliance packages. Options include French doors, gas fireplaces with a ceramic-tile face or wood mantel, crown molding, home office packages, security systems, central vacuum systems, and spa tubs in the master baths. To visit, take Tropicana Avenue west, past Durango Drive, to Grand Canyon Drive and go south. The sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m.
