Southern Terrace opens club

A warm Sunday afternoon was the setting for the debut of Perma-Bilt Homes' Southern Terrace Club, which was built exclusively for residents of the Southern Terrace community.

"We had approximately 400 guests tour the clubhouse throughout the weekend of Feb. 23-24, including many future residents at Southern Terrace," sales executive Ruth Ochoa said.

The club is situated on 2 acres with a spa and two swimming pools -- one for families and one for adults. Amenities include a children's activity center, playground, barbecue area, exercise equipment, aerobics area, saunas, locker rooms and a massage facility.

The builder is also developing a 12.5-acre open area that will include a pedestrian trail with desert landscaping.

All of the homes have received the Comfort Wise and Energy Star designations for energy-efficiency, which can help reduce heating and cooling costs by as much as 30 percent.

Four neighborhoods in the community offer a combined 15 floor plans, ranging from 1,379 to 3,500 square feet. Prices start from the $150,000s to the low $300,000s.

Neighborhoods include Autumn Hills, which features four two-story plans that range from 1,563 to 1,953 square feet with as many as four bedrooms and an optional loft. Prices start from the $150,000s.

Somerset offers four floor plans, ranging from 1,379 to 2,467 square feet. Prices start from the $150,000s. Design elements include a library, island kitchen and tandem three-car garage. A bonus room, loft, retreat and extra bedrooms and baths are optional.

Ridgemont is a gated, all-single-story neighborhood featuring four floor plans. Prices start from the $230,000s and the homes measure from 2,223 to 2,759 square feet with as many as five bedrooms and four baths. Options include courtyard entries and split three-car garages.

The gated Monterey neighborhood features two-story homes ranging from 2,860 to 3,541 square feet with as many as six bedrooms and four baths. Prices start from the low $300,000s. These floor plans allow for options such as split three-car garages, retreats, courtyards, bonus rooms, patios, home offices or libraries.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Russell Road, go west to Fort Apache Road then turn left. The sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m.
