Buyer relaxes at Big Sky Ranches
Betty Chan wanted a home spa and fitness retreat where she could recharge and revitalize from her work as a real estate agent. She's creating one, complete with a steam room, in the casita of her new home in Pardee Homes' Big Sky Ranches in the southwestern valley. "With my schedule, it's difficult to get to a gym. But staying in shape is increasingly important to me. I want the energy and stamina to enjoy my busy life," Chan said. With 3,379 square feet in the main house of her Plan Three home, Chan was also able to include a home office and library, as well as a guest suite for her two grown daughters and other visitors. "I have an empty nest, but I don't want it to feel empty," Chan said. "This house has the large square footage I wanted, but because of the well-designed floor plan, it doesn't overwhelm you the way a home this size often can." Chan came to Las Vegas 13 years ago from Hong Kong. "I could never in my lifetime dream of having the kind of home I'm buying here in Las Vegas," she said. "I think the prices at Big Sky Ranches are particularly good, especially since I know Pardee builds a quality product." Homes are priced from $251,950 to $272,950, with the option for a 500-square-foot detached casita priced from $29,000 to $37,000. Single- and two-story homes are offered, ranging from 2,624 to 3,839 square feet on home sites measuring as large as one-third acre. The four designs offer as many as six bedrooms and four baths, island kitchens, owner suites, and customizing options. Each home has obtained the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star seal for energy efficiency. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Rainbow Boulevard, go north about a mile to Patrick Lane and turn left. The models are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m. Pardee Homes has built nearly 25,000 homes in Southern Nevada over 50 years.
